Did anyone else find themselves having to adjust their lives and plans to accommodate 2020 in whatever it has brought us, month after month? If you answered that with a no, I’d like to know what rock you’ve been hiding under! =-)

Change has been a theme in 2020, and something that everyone has been able to relate to this year.

Personally, I’ve had to discontinue meeting for therapy sessions in my Downtown Brooklyn offices.

The series of workshops I had advertised that were scheduled to take place in the spring of 2020? All cancelled!

But…

I switched from in person sessions to a fully remote format, and

I facilitated a few virtual support group events sprinkled throughout the year instead.

I know that this year brought its fair share of uncertainty, challenges, losses, and stress. I hope that through it all, you have found a silver lining; I hope that you were even able to make lemonade out of those lemons!

Most importantly, I hope that you were able to take good care of yourself, and safely stay connected with your loved ones.

To anyone that has weathered a significant loss (whether the death of a loved one, or a job layoff), I offer my condolences.

2020 is finally coming to an end.

You made it! Here you are, reading this post. You have been surviving a pandemic, and all of the changes that came along with it. Please take this moment to celebrate your resilience during these trying times!

We’re getting ready to end this year. It may not have looked like the way we wanted it to. Even this month, there will be differences from years prior to navigate. I hope that you’ll be reflecting on all of the things that you were able to do well this year, including adapt to the unknown.

Be well!
