Summer Slow Down

Summer Slow Down

“When you commit your energy and set your intentions to manifest what is truly authentic for you, you’ll be filled with energy. You won’t be drained or exhausted.” ~The Pattern app

I hope that this summer, you will make time to slow down, daydream, and focus on yourself. Amidst all of the social plans, travel, and Life “LIFE-ing”, I hope that you are able to reconnect to yourself.

What brings you joy? What lights you up? What pours into you?

More sunlight can help you to feel more positive and motivated. Take advantage of this time to immerse yourself in nature, be more active, and find what feels good.

Stay safe and have fun this summer!

As Always, Be Well!

~Jessica

In Case You Missed It…

If you're new to The Therapist’s Thoughts blog, or have missed some recent entries, you can find the links to this year’s current posts below! As always, the topics covered are mental health-focused, ranging from anxiety and depression, to relationships and self-care.

January: Happy New Year 2023

I discuss the potential of starting a new year. I share resources to assist readers with planning out goals and maintaining progress with a year of new intentions.

February: Snooze (It’s Still Winter)

I describe an experience that some readers may struggle with during winter (Seasonal Affective Disorder). I also share mental health resources for coping during this season.

March: In Between Sessions

I share recommendations for continuing the healing process in between sessions with your therapist. These strategies will help the reader to prioritize their mental health outside of their therapist’s office by identifying ways to process emotions and thoughts, continue the work, and prepare for the next therapy session.

April: Managing Stress Using Your Five Senses

I focus on stress for Stress Awareness Month by sharing some facts about stress and the impact it can have on our mental health when not properly managed. I also give practical examples of how the reader can use their five senses to identify stress management techniques.

May: The Other Side of Healing

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I discuss the less observed side of healing in therapy. I describe why it is an important part of improving our mental health, and normalize the challenges that may arise. I also share some strategies for coping through this period of the healing process.
