“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.” ~Anonymous
My Gratitude for Therapy
I am so grateful for therapy, and the myriad benefits that it offers all those who choose to participate;
A safe and supportive environment for exploring thoughts, feelings, and experiences;
A space for gaining self-awareness; to develop a deeper understanding of self and for uncovering the roots of challenges;
An opportunity for all involved to learn and enhance personal growth.
I find tremendous value in working with my clients. It is such a special relationship. I am so honored to build trust with my clients while unraveling truths and creating new possibilities, as I recognize the incredible vulnerability this process takes. I also appreciate the grace that my clients show me when I don’t always get it right, and when miscommunications occasionally happen.
If you’re currently in therapy, or participated in therapy this year, what memories of your sessions or with your therapist are you grateful for?
If you’re currently working with me, I’d love to hear some of your reflections from our time together in 2023- email me!
During some time I’ve taken to reflect on my year, I recalled several powerful moments from sessions I’ve facilitated that inspired insight or led to breakthroughs. I will share some of the catalyzing statements and questions, in hopes that you will also find them beneficial.
12 Reminders, Affirmations, and Mantras
1. You’re not at the beginning anymore. Where you started from is not where you are now.
2. Choose your “hard”.
3. You don’t always need a reason for feeling how you feel. Experiencing the feeling is enough.
4. Will you regret not starting on this path now in 5 years?
5. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how everyone else is doing it. How do You need to do things in order to get to where you want to be?
6. Grief doesn’t work on anyone’s timeline. It takes as long as it needs, and that’s okay.
7. You deserve to celebrate how much you’ve grown.
8. You’re not being too sensitive- your very valid emotions are just inconveniencing them.
9. Think simple. Start smaller. Break things down into easy steps.
10. We’re all apart of this world, and we each have our place. It’s like a big beautiful garden; one flower’s beauty doesn’t mean that you’re not beautiful. Someone else shining doesn’t mean you need to dim your light.
11. The chaos only feels familiar. You don’t have to lean into it. You can see it and choose something different this time.
12. Trust your intuition. What is it trying to tell you?
I hope that you are able to walk away with at least one reminder, affirmation, or mantra that will benefit you.
We can receive words of wisdom from anywhere- a therapist, a podcast, a friend, etc.
